Design

Packaging that sells off the shelf and survives any labelling inspection

Packaging and label design, checked against the mandatory legal content and prepared properly for print, from a single SKU to a full range system.

  • You are launching or reformulating a cosmetics or perfumery range
  • You pack for food or organic retail and have to comply on allergens and nutrition values
  • You have dozens of SKUs that look like products from different brands

01 · What it costs you today

  • Your label is no longer compliant

Regulation (EU) 2023/1545 extends the fragrance allergen list from 26 to 82 substances, with a 31 July 2026 deadline. A perfume label designed two years ago risks being non-compliant the moment it relaunches.

  • Every new SKU looks like somebody else made it

With no packaging system across the range, every launch starts from zero, and the cost doubles exactly where experience should be bringing it down.

  • You do not know who is legally responsible

An imported cosmetic product, from South Korea or anywhere else, needs a responsible person established in the EU, whose details have to appear clearly on the label.

  • The packaging looks good, but it does not sell

A product has 3-7 seconds to catch attention on the shelf. If the basic information is not visible in that window, beautiful design stops mattering.

02 · What you get

  • A design concept for the packaging or the label

Shape, materials, information hierarchy and colour coding, designed for the few real seconds in which a shopper decides at the shelf.

  • A check of the mandatory label content

INCI names, listing order, allergens, nutrition values, recycling marks, checked against your product category, with explicit flagging of what needs legal confirmation before print.

  • A packaging system for the range

Colour coding, typographic hierarchy and a reusable structure, with an application guide handed to your team, so future products stay coherent without depending on us for every new SKU.

  • Files technically ready for print

Bleed, CMYK, Pantone for critical brand colours, and a dieline validated by the manufacturer for complex structures, so the mistake stays digital rather than physical.

  • Coordination with the manufacturer

Sign-off on a physical proof, checking colour tolerances on the real material and confirming minimum order quantities.

  • 3D renders for marketing and ecommerce

For online product pages, internal presentations and launch materials, before physical production is ready.

03 · How we work

  1. 01

    Brief and category research

Shelf competition and the legal requirements specific to your category, cosmetic, food or beverage.

  2. 02

    Visual and structural concept

Packaging design and, where needed, a preliminary dieline for the physical structure.

  3. 03

    Mandatory content check

Refinement based on your feedback, with clear flagging of the points that need legal confirmation.

  4. 04

    Final files and production

Full technical preparation, coordination with the manufacturer for print sign-off, a physical proof and final approval.

04 · Results

  • Zéffaperfume collection

Packaging identity for a perfume range, built for the shelf and for product photography.

These are the figures reported by the clients themselves, for their own accounts, over the periods shown. We do not turn them into derived percentages and we do not present them as reproducible.

05 · What people usually ask us

“Our packaging looks good, why change it?”
Appearance is only half the equation. If the allergen list or the mandatory content does not match the current version of the regulation, the 'good' packaging becomes non-compliant, however attractive it is.
“Redoing the whole packaging system across the range is expensive.”
The cost of a system designed once is lower than the cumulative cost of designing every new SKU from scratch, and without coherence the brand loses recognition at the shelf.
“Our manufacturer handles the print files.”
The manufacturer prints what it receives. If the file has the wrong bleed, colours converted incorrectly or a dieline incompatible with their machine, the waste is yours, not the printer's.

06 · Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee my label is 100% legal?
No, nobody can guarantee that without specialist legal review of the product's exact formulation. We structure and check the content known at the time of the work and flag clearly where confirmation from a regulatory consultant is needed.
What changes with the fragrance allergen list in 2026?
Regulation (EU) 2023/1545 extends the list from roughly 26 to 82 substances that have to be declared individually, with a 31 July 2026 deadline for new products. Any perfume label designed now has to be checked against the extended list.
Do you also work on packaging for products imported from South Korea?
Yes, an imported cosmetic product carries the same labelling obligations as one made in the EU, including appointing a responsible person established in the EU.
How long does it take to design a packaging system for a whole range?
Usually 4-8 weeks, depending on the number of SKUs and on how much structure, not just graphics, has to be designed from scratch.
What is a deposit return system and does it apply to me?
If you sell beverages in glass, plastic or metal packaging between 0.1 and 3 litres, yes. The Romanian SGR scheme requires a specific mark and barcode on the label, and we discuss that from the concept stage, not after print.
